Geophysics FMIPA Untan Encourages Students to Embrace Renewable Energy and Sustainability
Pontianak, Saturday, November 8, 2025 —
The Geophysics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Tanjungpura, held a Public Lecture x SEMESTA under the theme “Renewable Energy as the Foundation of a Sustainable Future.”
This event brought together experts from various disciplines to discuss the challenges and opportunities of renewable energy development in Indonesia and its crucial role in achieving a sustainable future.
The session featured three distinguished speakers:
🔹 Prof. Ir. Mukhtasor, M.Eng., Ph.D., who presented an overview of the opportunities and challenges in developing renewable energy within Indonesia’s national energy transition framework.
🔹 Dr. Yoga Satria Putra, who discussed the potential of wind power generation using a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) approach to optimize turbine performance.
🔹 Dr. Akhmad Yani, S.E., M.Si., who elaborated on the economic impacts of renewable energy implementation and its contribution to sustainable growth.
This activity served as an inspiring platform for students to broaden their understanding of how science, technology, and policy intersect in shaping a greener and more sustainable future. The interactive discussions reflected the participants’ enthusiasm and awareness toward clean energy innovation and environmental responsibility.
Through this event, the Geophysics Study Program of FMIPA Untan reaffirmed its commitment to advancing earth and energy sciences that support sustainability and environmental stewardship.
