Pontianak, October 28, 2025 — The Geophysics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Tanjungpura, successfully held a Public Lecture titled “Exploring Atmospheric Dynamics through the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model” on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM (WIB) at the FMIPA Senate Room.
The session featured Randy Ardianto, SST., S.Si., M.Si., who shared valuable insights on the application of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model for analyzing and predicting atmospheric dynamics. Participants were guided through fundamental concepts, physical parameterizations, and real-world applications of WRF in weather and climate studies, particularly in tropical regions.
The event drew enthusiastic participation from students and lecturers, marked by engaging discussions and thought-provoking questions on atmospheric modeling and research opportunities in meteorology and geophysics.
This public lecture served as a valuable platform for students and academics to deepen their understanding and analytical skills in the study of atmospheric dynamics. It is hoped that such activities will continue to foster research interest, collaboration, and innovation within the FMIPA community.
Sincere appreciation is extended to all participants, organizers, and the guest speaker for their enthusiasm and contributions to the success of this event.
