Geophysical Survey And Data Processing Education For High School Students In Pontianak, West Kalimantan

The Geophysics Study Program proudly announces the implementation of a Community Service Program with the theme "Geophysical Survey and Data Processing Education for High School Students in Pontianak, West Kalimantan". This event will take place at SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak, attended by high school students and accompanying teachers from nearby schools.

 

During the activity, participants will explore various science stations and have the unique opportunity to learn directly about:

 

🔍 Resistivity Meter:

  • Understanding the working principles of a resistivity meter.
  • Investigating subsurface soil and rock layers.
  • Groundwater, mineral, and mining exploration.
  • Disaster mitigation, such as mapping landslide-prone areas, detecting subsurface structures, and identifying soil and water contamination.

 

🌦️ Automatic Weather Station (AWS):

  • Learning how an AWS works.
  • Monitoring and recording weather conditions in real-time for climate and environmental analysis.

 

💧 Flow Meter:

  • Understanding the working principles of water flow measurement tools.

 

In addition to these engaging educational activities, there will be a challenge for participants. Those who create interesting posts about the Community Service Program (PKM) and share them on social media will have the chance to win exciting prizes from the Physics Department. Posts can be in the form of:

 

  • Photos with a PKM story caption.
  • Video Reels.
  • YouTube videos.
