Lecturers from the Geophysics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Tanjungpura, participated in investigation, assessment, and development activities for mineral, coal, and geothermal resource exploration conducted in Sampit, East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan.
This activity was carried out as a collaborative effort between the Center for Mineral, Coal, and Geothermal Resources (PSDMBP), Geological Agency, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and the Faculty of Mineral and Energy Technology, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta, with the involvement of lecturers from the Geophysics Study Program of Universitas Tanjungpura.
In this field activity, three UNTAN Geophysics lecturers were directly involved in field data acquisition, namely R. Perdhana, Zulfian Tabrani, and Taufik Nurfitrianto. Their involvement covered field data acquisition as well as geophysical expertise to support the understanding of natural resource potential in the study area.
The participation of UNTAN Geophysics lecturers in this activity reflects the active role of higher education institutions in supporting government programs in the energy and mineral resources sector. Furthermore, this activity strengthens inter-institutional collaboration networks and provides valuable field experience that contributes to the development of education and applied geophysics research.
The Geophysics Study Program, FMIPA Universitas Tanjungpura, hopes that this activity will proceed smoothly and generate meaningful scientific contributions, both for the advancement of geophysics as a discipline and for the sustainable utilization of mineral, coal, and geothermal resources.
